What does ZekoHR actually include?
Five modules on one employee record: Core HR (profiles, directory, leave, attendance, documents), People Operations (onboarding, Documents Center, letters, policies, assets, audit log), Payroll & Expenses, Culture & Engagement, and Platform (multi-company, roles, API). Everything is included in the free year.
Is the free year really free?
Yes. Every signup gets the full product for 365 days, for up to 50 employees, with no card and every module switched on. After that, plans are ₹10, ₹20 or ₹30 per user per month, and the exact price is always shown before you pay.
How long does setup take?
Most teams are running the same day. Departments, leave types and an India-ready holiday calendar come pre-seeded; you sign up, pick your subdomain and invite people. There is no implementation project and no sales call.
Where does our data live, and how is it protected?
The primary database is in Mumbai, India. Traffic is TLS end to end, files are stored encrypted, access is role-based, and every material action lands in an audit log. Our security page states exactly what is live and what is still planned.
Does it work on phones?
Yes. ZekoHR is designed at phone size first, as a web app with nothing to install. Applying for leave, approving a claim or checking a payslip all work from a browser on any phone.
Are we locked in?
No. The documented API that powers every screen is available on Pro (or as an add-on), so your data is never trapped. If you cancel, you keep read-only access and your data is retained for 90 days before being irreversibly purged.
