For education and edtech

Term time is busy time. HR should not add to it.

Teaching staff, visiting faculty, admin and a tutor network that scales with enrolments. Holidays follow the academic calendar, not the financial one. ZekoHR fits that shape, free for a year.

Up to 50 employees free for 12 months. No card, no sales call.

The campus reality

What the school office carries on paper

The calendar is academic

Summer break, Puja holidays, exam weeks when nobody may take leave. Holiday calendars per company handle the academic year, and restricted holidays cover regional festivals.

Teacher documents expire

B.Ed certificates, police verification, the visa for the exchange teacher. Document categories with verification and expiry keep the file current and remind the owner before it lapses.

Visiting faculty is nobody's problem

Guest lecturers and part-time tutors are paid per session and sit outside every system. As individual contractors they get an engagement, a rate, dates and a coordinator, and only the access you choose.

Why it fits an institution

The school office, without the register

One record per staff member with documents, leave and payslips. Letters for appointment, confirmation and relieving from templates. Policies with acknowledgements for the staff handbook and the child-protection policy. Payroll with pre-flight checks publishes PDF payslips.

  • Holiday calendars that follow the academic year
  • Document expiry for certificates and verifications
  • Visiting faculty and tutors as contractors with engagements
  • Letters, policies and acknowledgements for the staff handbook

How teams use it

How institutions set it up

The year, then the people

Set the leave year and the holiday calendar to the academic session, then import teaching and non-teaching staff with departments by subject or function.

Collect the file

Raise one document request batch for certificates, ID and verification reports. Uploads enter the verification queue; the expiring view flags renewals.

Pay everyone correctly

Salary structures for teaching grades, contractor engagements for visiting faculty, and a monthly run that publishes payslips to every phone.

Honest fit

When ZekoHR is not the right choice

You need student records or fee management

ZekoHR is for staff, not students. It does not touch admissions, timetables or fees; that is your ERP or LMS.

You need biometric attendance for staff

Attendance is HR-marked days and loss of pay. There is no clock-in or device integration.

You need a performance appraisal module

There is no review-cycle or goals module. Appraisal letters can be generated and stored, but the evaluation itself happens elsewhere.

FAQ

Common questions

Can we block leave during exam weeks?

Not as a hard rule, but managers see the team calendar on every request and policies with acknowledgement make the expectation clear. Approvers decide with the roster in front of them.

How are part-time tutors paid?

Tutors on a per-session contract are added as individual contractors with an engagement and rate. Contractor pay runs and invoices are on the roadmap; today the payout is handled by finance from the engagement record.

Is there special pricing for educational institutions?

The free year is the same for everyone: every module, up to 50 people, no card. After that, plans start at ₹10 per user per month with a GST invoice.

Can the staff handbook live in the portal?

Yes. Publish policies, collect acknowledgements and see who has not read them. The internal knowledge base holds how-to articles your office writes.
