HR scope (assigned companies)

HR scope limits an HR Manager to specific companies; they'll only see and manage employees in the companies assigned to them.

The key point: HR scope does not grant HR abilities on its own. It only narrows the abilities a person already has from their role.

So if you assign HR scope to someone who is still an Employee, they'll see nothing new; because the Employee role has no HR permissions to narrow.

To make someone an HR Manager:

1. Give them the HR Manager role (via role assignment).
2. Assign their HR scope (companies) under Settings → HR scope.
3. Have them log out and log back in so their new permissions load.
